Electricity transmission system operators presented its first view on Offshore-Onshore grid perspectives for 2015 based on the steady state analysis- first results

European Wind Integration Study has presented its first view on Offshore/Onshore Grid perspectives for 2015 time horizon to the EC-working group for offshore/onshore grid development lead by Mr. Georg Wilhelm Adamowitsch.

Brussels, February 2009, European Wind Integration Study has presented its first view on Offshore/Onshore Grid perspectives for 2015 time horizon to the EC-working group for offshore/onshore grid development lead by Mr. Georg Wilhelm Adamowitsch. Mr. Adamowitsch stated that EWIS plays the major role on European level for the integration of wind power into the transmission system. For the offshore development he stated further, the EWIS draft results especially for the north sea region are even at this stage very helpful to address the urgent need of the wind related missing transmission lines e.g. within Germany, which have been requested since 2005 (dena I). EC is aware of the importance of the EWIS project which will play an important role for the medium term coordination of the offshore activities and the onshore grid on a pan European basis. The conclusions are preliminary and subject to modification upon further investigations in the current of this year. The presentation is available in the download section.
